About Our Dogs
At Avonview, we are dedicated to raising sound, healthy dogs that will live a long life. Our dogs are raised in our family home not in a barn, basement or a kennel. We feel it is important that our dogs are subjected to everyday living in a home environment to ensure gentle stable temperaments. They all have obedience training. Depending on their love they will be exposed to other things like agility, rally obediences, conformation, hunting, and/or therapy work. I believe it is important that each dog have a job to do. All our dogs are CKC registered, microchipped, and vaccinated annually. At Avonview all our dogs compete in CKC conformation events across the Maritimes competing against other Springers for a Canadian Champion Title. It's a lot of hard work, but so rewarding and fun.
About Our Puppies
Each litter of puppies born at Avonview is an exciting event for our entire family. We believe it is very important that each litter is raised with lots of love, attention, and the best care possible. Our breeding program is designed around producing a litter of puppies that are healthy with excellent temperaments. We only produce one or two litters a year, which allows us to focus on each litter we produce. Our puppies start there life in my bedroom at the foot of my bed, giving mother and babies some quality time to get to know each other is a safe and warm environment. Between 2 and 3 weeks they are moved to the kitchen and are exposed to all the other dogs, and everyday living, lots of noises, lots to explore, lots of fun for them. In good weather, they go out for play-time and learn about the outside world with their mom. Weather dependent our springers are taken to our cottage where they are exposed to water and taught to swim. It is my goal as a breeder and avid dog lover to expose my puppies to as main things as I can within the short time frame they are with me, so they leave confident to explore there new world with there adopted family.
I even take the puppies to the Elms Residence Senior home in Falmouth and Haliburton House at the Windsor Hospital. They love the seniors and the seniors love them. There they are exposed to lots of things wheel chairs, canes, lots of noises they are handled by lots of people. It's a great experience for all involved.
Our pups are vet inspected prior to leaving us and come with their first set of shots. They are microchipped, de-wormed, C.K.C. Registered and are covered by a two year warranty. Our pups are sold on a non-breeding contract. Pet puppies are required to be spayed or neutered within 1 year. Show pups must reach certain requirements before the non-breeding contract is lifted.
Our puppies are all priced the same whether they are male or female, liver and white or black and white, show puppies or pet puppies. The adoption fee for an Avonview Puppy is $2,000.00. There is a $100.00 deposit required to be added to the waiting list that is non-refundable. Once it is time to pick up your puppy the remaining adoption fee is required. Puppies are allowed to go to their new homes at 10 weeks. I will hold the puppy up to 14 weeks if needed, after that a boarding fee will be applied to the adoption fee.
